The Institute of Social Medicine and Health Systems Research (ISMHSR) conducts research for quality and efficiency in the health care system. The university teaching in Medicine focuses on the subjects of Medical Sociology, Social Medicine as well as Prevention and Health Promotion in the preclinical and clinical study phase.
Our multidisciplinary team consists mainly of researchers from epidemiology, public health, sociology, nursing and health sciences, and teaches at the interface between health care system and society. The focus is on the following research areas:
- Epidemiology (population-based and clinical)
- Healthcare epidemiology including claims data research
- Development and validation of patient-relevant endpoints
- Evidence synthesis and systematic reviews
- Development and evaluation of complex interventions
- Public Health (prevention and health promotion)
